Trip to Honshu, Izumo 2

We hung around Izumo, stayed overnight and continued our way to the west. But first some more Izumo stuff:

Around the main building are numerous secondary shrines, all decorated with big sacred ropes made of rice and white paper, the shime

They are not the only ones

Around the corner from the Grand Shrine, a traditional looking noodle shop

We drove around the area a bit, up a hill with yet another shrine. And a view of the town

manhole cover in the nearby harbor of Hinomisaki

The last one, because of the vermillion red background. Hinomisaki Shrine.

Misty misterious Izumo, the realm of the gods
