Siberian Stonechat, ノビタキ

The first birds are always a bit shy, but this lady cooperated nicely.

The male stayed in the distance

Poor birds! 3 Raptors were flying around. A Peregrine Falcon, a Kestrel and repeatedly this Eastern Buzzard, ノスリ

Eurasian Kestrel, チョウゲンボウ

Stonechats and Cosmos, コスノビ

Thanks to Ms M's info I got to see the Stejneger's Stonechats, ノビタキ perching on the yellow Cosmos flowers, キバナコスモス. 5 Birds were flying when I first got to the park. 2 Left soon, but 3 stayed for a little while, until more people arrived. Though the flowers looked rather messy it turned out pretty after all.

Stejneger's Stonechat, ノビタキ

At the usual place 4 birds were acting kind of shy.

In perspective. Those Dragonflies seem so big and the bird so small

April, May compilation, fields

It feels strange, right at the peak of migration, with all that free time at hand but not going out to find visiting birds. Just sometimes, getting some fresh air, having a quick look.

1 Wood Sandpiper, タカブシギ all by itself

A snipe, maybe Swinhoe's Snipe, チュウジシギ

Very few shore birds and other waders, but a few Black-winged Stilts, セイタカシギ are on the move.

Siberian Stonechats, ノビタキ about 7 birds in the distance. No chance to wait them out

Zitting Cisticola, セッカ

Amur White Wagtail, ホオジロハクセキレイ

Fork-tailed Swift, アマツバメ

Black-winged Stilts, セイタカシギ again at the lotus pond. 3 birds this time

And again 1 Wood sandpiper, タカブシギ Same bird as before?

A male Kingfisher, カワセミ working very hard to catch a meal. I wondered wether he ate it all himself

Often the first chicks I see in spring: Bull-headed Shrikes, モズ

A handicapped crane and a mate: Hooded Crane, ナベヅル

The bird with the injured wing tried to flap its wings. I didn't think it could fly, but the following day the pair was gone.

Barn Swallows, ツバメ  gathering nesting materials

April Lock down part 2

It feels strange, right at the peak of migration, with all that free time at hand but not going out to find visiting birds. Just sometimes, getting some fresh air, having a quick look.
I won't publish these posts for a while. Not untill it's all in the past. (Sigh)
