Japanese Robin, コマドリ and some more

There were 2 Robins, コマドリ at the usual location. A male and a female. The last stayed hidden between branches, but the male showed up on the staircase a few times. So did the Red-flanked Bluetail, ルリビタキ briefly. To get better views I moved to the water basin and guess who came out of the thickets?

Japanese Robin,

Every year it's a tense question. Will we see it again in Fukuoka? Will it come to the usual park?

Migrating birds in the park, part 3

The next time a went to the park was April 20th and I got to see more of the Siberian Blue Robin, コルリ. A young male again, very friendly. Frequently coming out in broad daylight. Why??

Another male preferred the dark shadows

At the bird bath the Brown-headed Thrush, アカハラ came in

Long-tailed Tits, エナガ were there too.

Babies waiting to be fed

With Warbling White-eye,

At the usual place a female Japanese Robin,

It was the first hot day of the year. I was surprised to see the Tiger Beetle,

Last some pretty moth with lace-like wings

Migrating birds in the park, part 1

The following posts are way too late, but due to having a great time with relatives visiting us over the last 2 months I was too much occupied with other mostly fun things. Sorry!

On April 18th a Siberian Blue Robin, コルリ hopped out of the bush first thing in the morning, but then went back in hiding for a while.

A few hours later we saw him again, a young male

Other birds around were Brown-headed Thrush,

Male Japanese Robin,

(1 of 3 birds)

and female

One of the few winter birds that is still hanging around

At the bird bath several Eastern Crowned Warblers, センダイムシクイ came to visit. Or was it the same bird all the time? It has a bit of a weak colored crown, so it could be.

The flycatchers showed up just briefly. Why were they so reluctant?
