New Zealand 12

Last but not least: The family

A pleasant gathering at the Hennevelds' beautiful residence

A stroll on 'our own' beach, now shared with the people of the new house on the hill.

Jaap after his run. He has the Ibusuki Marathon to look forward to.

Happy Birthday Hessel!
Special treat for her 50th: All her favorite men in the family sporting yellow swimpants. What do they call them there... toggs?

Hes, at her birthday best

Adam and Eva, at home at their paradise. Not a bad place!

Span cleaning Eva's ears

Christmas 2011. We had a wonderful time!

New Zealand 11

People in shorts and singlets, parties at the beach. Christmas in summer, it looks and feels different.

Many decorated, well maintained old-timers at the X-mas parade in Tutukaka

The weekly arts and crafts market at Whangarei's Townbasin.

There was a little white dog, called Benton chasing these Pukeko's, but he got lost in the process.

Rock 'n Roll around the harbor

Art displays in the park along the river. It all looks quite different from 18 years ago, Whangarei. Well done!

Harbor views

And more arty scenes at the Quarry, always worth a visit.

What a dragon! Specialty of the year? I wonder if the creator was Asian...

Just remembered my first photography classes here.

Not a blood-colored Pohutekawa, but a purple Jacaranda, equally impressive.

New Zealand 10

Red-billed Gulls (or Mackerel Gulls) are found all around the New Zealand coast.
Their bright red bills, legs and eyering make a colorful contrast to their white, grey and black body.

A little courtship on the rocks

funny faces

Pretty in flight

And very social when checking out swimmer's bags

Big Brother Black-backed Gull keeping an eye on the lot.

Haven't had our fix of Pohutukawa's yet?

Red, redd, redder
