More migraters in Fukuoka

It's migrating season and I would like to go to the islands, Nagasaki, Hokkaido... but I can't. I'm not strong enough yet. Still suffering from PCS, (Post-COVID-19 Syndrome) I just manage to get through the day. Fortunately, the Botanical Gardens are nearby.

A young male Narcissus Flycatcher, キビタキ came to the water basin

He's enjoying it

At another corner in the park: Japanese Thrush,

They moved on quickly

Brown-headed Thrush,

For days I saw them only in the distance, or just flying off. This day in April 3 came close. Finally.

Asian Brown Flycatcher,

Blue-and-white Flycatcher,

After the male, a female dropped by.

Once again, Brown-headed Thrush, アカハラ at the end of the afternoon.

12th of April, an afternoon in the park

The 2nd week of April, after the rain. The bird matsuri prime time.

The afternoon started off with a Blue-and-white Flycatcher,

At the same time: Asian Brown Flycatcher,

several birds

And Ryukyu Minivet,

Alpine Black Swallowtail,

Around the bird bath: Narcissus Flycatcher, キビタキ appeared briefly. Feared of the many Bulbuls, maybe.

Not the best photos, but in time better ones will come, I hope.

Eastern Crowned Warbler,

And Pale Thrush,

Many noisy and cheeky Brown-eared Bulbuls, ヒヨドリ scared off the tits and other small birds.
But this is maybe the only good photograph of the day 😆

A Male Pygmy Woodpecker コゲラ (See the red mark!) shooing off an intruder.

Peeking out of a hole in the tree. Is it a nest?

Ural Owl chick,

The chick was already a few days old, maybe a week even, before I could see it. It had moved higher up to a place that was difficult to see, but I found it Lucky!

In the same area: Eastern Crowned warbler,

A family of Japanese Tits,

And to my big surprise an Orange Hairstreak, アカシジミ appeared around 4:30 pm

The time to add small stuff has come

Migrating birds in the park, part 3

The next time a went to the park was April 20th and I got to see more of the Siberian Blue Robin, コルリ. A young male again, very friendly. Frequently coming out in broad daylight. Why??

Another male preferred the dark shadows

At the bird bath the Brown-headed Thrush, アカハラ came in

Long-tailed Tits, エナガ were there too.

Babies waiting to be fed

With Warbling White-eye,

At the usual place a female Japanese Robin,

It was the first hot day of the year. I was surprised to see the Tiger Beetle,

Last some pretty moth with lace-like wings
