Migrators in the city park: Siberian Robin, Japanese Thrush and some more

When the thrill of the first Blue-and-White Flycatcher wore off, I returned to see what was up. A colorful Robin came out of the bush

It was then that my camera failed. Fortunately, I found the issue. The bird was very friendly and came back a few times.

There were many Thrushes in the trees, but they were very reluctant to come down and out of the darkness. Only one bird was brave enough.

While waiting, White-eyes visited the Maple trees and made it look like autumn

That day I hoped to see a Yellow Flycatcher, but I was out of luck. However, on my way out, I encountered another blue colored bird.

Red-flanked Bluetail, ルリビタキ -  "mesu-type", or female type.

Coming from a dark area, I had not adjusted the exposure settings yet, thus the result looks bright.

From light to dark, a pretty female Thrush just a few meters away.

This was another great day. But when will I see a Yellow Flycatcher?

Thrushes in the park

April 3rd, Sakura season. The park was crowded, as expected. But around the Camphor tree it was reasonably quiet. Nobody is interested in those berries, but the Thrushes are!

Kuju mid November

Not the right time for winter, nor summer birds. But some Thrushes were there. Mostly Eyebrowed, and a few Flycatchers.

Mugimaki and some more

The Mugumaki's came late this year. I missed my chance 😆The only one I got to see was this female. I waited at the right tree, but only saw 1 Elegant Bunting. When I decided to aim for those further afield they'd all moved on, but 1 female Mugimaki came to the maple tree... 😂

Thrushes in the park

The corners of tree branches often hold rainwater. It can last a few days after heavy showers and during those days birds stop by for a drink. In October several Thrushes visit the tall fruit-bearing trees, eating the berries starting from the top.
