Migrators in the city park: Siberian Robin, Japanese Thrush and some more

When the thrill of the first Blue-and-White Flycatcher wore off, I returned to see what was up. A colorful Robin came out of the bush

Siberian Blue Robin, コルリ

It was then that my camera failed. Fortunately, I found the issue. The bird was very friendly and came back a few times.

There were many Thrushes in the trees, but they were very reluctant to come down and out of the darkness. Only one bird was brave enough.

While waiting, White-eyes visited the Maple trees and made it look like autumn

That day I hoped to see a Yellow Flycatcher, but I was out of luck. However, on my way out, I encountered another blue colored bird.

Red-flanked Bluetail, ルリビタキ -  "mesu-type", or female type.

Coming from a dark area, I had not adjusted the exposure settings yet, thus the result looks bright.

This was another great day. But when will I see a Yellow Flycatcher?

Olive-backed Pipits, ビンズイ and some more

The trees around the hotspring were starting to bloom Yamasakura attracted many birds. The flowers were pretty, but the White-eyes, メジロ were all moulding and looked rough.

Bulbuls were chasing the small birds that visited the trees, but they ignored the birds on the ground. Below the trees 3 Olive-backed Pipits, ビンズイ were quietly picking their way

Daurian Redstarts, ジョウビタキ are gathering, getting ready to migrate. This female looked stunning with perfect eye and eyebrow feathers

Not Cherry blossom. Momo?

Bees sleep in flowers, I heard. I checked, but they were all wide awake at 8am

Parks in the west.

In the 2nd week of March the weather was variably sunny or cloudy, warm or cold, windy or calm. I was still dealing with the cold I had caught the previous month. Days were good or bad. On good days, I went out and walked in the parks.

Yellow-throated Buntings, ミヤマホオジロ had become very pretty in their summer colors.

The female Red-flanked Bluetail, ルリビタキ also got a bit more color

White-eyes in Plum blossom, ウメメジロ are popular and easy camera targets. However, getting a good shot with the deep pink flowers is hard!

Umemejiro

Happy time of the year. If only I would feel better... Colds continue, one after the other. Before recovering from one, the next one floors me again. First time ever I take so much medication.

Bees are out to collect their nectar.

White-eyes, メジロ love it, too

Eurasian Siskin, マヒワ and some more

I went to the same place on a warm winter day. The small flock of Siskins remained hiding in the trees till midday, when they ventured out to their watering hole. Green Pigeons were calling.

My camera likes the oranges rather than the small fast moving birds.
