This blog is for family and friends, to share my feelings and photos with and for myself, to support my fading memory and improve my Japanese. I intend to do some writing in kanji, but am not getting very far without a Japanese computer. So for the moment I say "konnichi wa". Aisatsu dake - just saying hello.

Red-billed Starling, ギンムクドリ

Another bird that is not common in Japan. The Starling family has many relatives, spread over Europe, Africa and Asia. These pretty ones reside in East China (I remember them from Hong Kong) and occasionally come our way. We found a small flock feeding in veggie gardens in that typical cheeky starling way  \ (*o*) / /  together with the local White-cheeked Starlings, ムクドリ

Also in the vicinity: Amur Wagtail,  ホオジロハクセキレイon the way to its breeding grounds
