This blog is for family and friends, to share my feelings and photos with and for myself, to support my fading memory and improve my Japanese. I intend to do some writing in kanji, but am not getting very far without a Japanese computer. So for the moment I say "konnichi wa". Aisatsu dake - just saying hello.

Great Reed Warbler, オオヨシキリ and some of his neighbors

Great Reed Warbler, オオヨシキリ doing a great job at singing his heart out

Just around the corner: Water Rail, クイナ

Towards the river:  Dunlin, ハマシギ With summer-black breast feathers

Talking about breeding colors! Grey Heron, アオサギ

Another colorful sight: Common Snipe, タシギ

Further west, still around: Black-winged Stilts, セイタカシギ

As well as Greater Painted-snipe, タマシギ

Is she going to stay? Does she have a mate?
