Greater Painted-snipe, タマシギ

Funny birds they are, with their white spectacles and braces. Specially the female, which is bigger and more brightly marked than the male. I was quite surprised to find this madam, standing out boldly in the green environment. She withdrew and ducked down right away and was secretive enough to stay put for a long time. However, she did come out of the bush to stretch her wings for a second and take 3 or 4 steps towards the backs before she disappeared again.

First steps

Oh, somebody is coming (Wood Sandpiper, タカブシギ)

Try again

Oops, that was scary...

Are my braces still in place?

There is that skinny fellow again.

better go back to sleep
