While waiting for the eagles I check out a little frog pond. There were several Fire Belly Newts. One acted like it was exercising back stroke and its bright orange fire belly could eaily be seen from far. He kept that up for a few hours, some birds most have seen that. I wondered if his poison was protecting him? Wikipedia: It is extremely toxic - fatal within 6 hours - to humans and other animals.
Going down a steep road, not road, path, by car!!! we ended up in a small village with many un-attended fields. There were these flowers, called Fox Gloves in English, Vingerhoed kruid in Dutch, growing wild. It looked stunning. I was reminded of the Netherlands, were I often saw them in small clusters. Not in a field like this. However, they are not native to Japan I was told. Did anybody plant them?
Wikipedia: Foxglove has medicinal uses but is also very toxic to humans and other animals, and consumption can even lead to death.
