There were 2 birds at the mouth of the creek. I got there aound noon on a sunny day and lighting conditions were not good. I want to see them again

Pacific Reef Egret, クロサギ
3 Birds were feeding at the mouth of the small river. 2 of them stayed together. A pair? One of them got upset when other birds came near. It sometimes had a very angry facial expression. So funny!
There were also 4 Little Herons, コサギ - their plumage looking quite "springy"

At the coast, 海岸で
It's a good place to see the sunrise and though we had many spectacular red mornings in December, this day it didn't happen.
The wind picked up and sent waves crashing
Who dares to swim here? Great Cormorant, カワウ (or Japanese Cormorant, ウミウ?)
Blue on the rocks; Blue Rock Thrush, イソヒヨドリ male
No waders, but 1 Common Sandpiper, イソシギ
Pacific Reef Heron, クロサギ
Way out: Red-breasted Mergansers, ウミアイサ. There were about 8 birds but none came close

Our neighbors、ウミアイサ ハジロカイツブリ クロサギ
In the river around the corner. Sometimes they come in the harbor and I get to see them from my bed.
Red-breasted Merganser, ウミアイサ
Black-necked Grebe, ハジロカイツブリ still in winter dress, so no ears yet
Not at our place, but they sometimes come to visit: Pacific Reef Heron, クロサギ

Spring tour of the west
In this beautiful weather it's hard to stay inside and do home work. I drove west to my favorite spots.

Towards Itoshima, 糸島 a small flock of Chestnut-eared Buntings, ホオアカ...
...posed briefly in front of some purple colored flowers and even on the Rape seed, 菜の花
Driving along the coast I saw a large number of Loons, オオハム too far to see details.
A stop at a Cherry blossom point: Japanese White-eye, 桜とメジロ
Grey Wagtail, キセキレイ in summer feathers, 夏羽
Pacific Reef Heron, クロサギ as usual
The Blue Rock Thrush, イソヒヨドリ dancing on the concrete blocks
At last a quick farewell to the Red-flanked Bluetail, ルリビタキ. He will be leaving soon...
