Siberian Rubythroat, ノゴマ

After watching the Goldcrests, we moved to another park and found the Siberian Rubythroat, ノゴマ. Lots of birders and photographers were there, anxiously watching a small bit of bush. Some had been there many hours, I heard, waiting for a glimpse. I felt bad for the bird (one single bird!) at first. However, once we arrived, it made a short appearance, flew quickly back to the safe darkness of tight branches, but then came out to look for food a number of times.

As always, the available light was scarce, but the good boy stepped into the sunlit patches at times

I'd come to look for the Rubythroat that day, but couldn't find it. I wonder if I should have looked better. It was there all along...

Last a female Bull-headed Shrike, モズ

 This handsome fellow has been sitting in my pc for nearly 3 weeks now, waiting anxiously to be released 😝 Well, here you go! October 25th in one of the city parks... It was a shy bird and didn't overstay his welcome. But he posed for me, even came so close I had to move backward to stay in focus range.

On a day that I thought he had left already. But he was still there, enticed to come out of the bush by his audience. What did they treat him with?

I was lucky to see it. 5 Days after it was first reported it was still there. I went to the park early, before many other people got there. Look at that ruby colored throat... Yokatta!

After that I searched the nearby woods for Mugimake, but could not find any...

A week ago I went to another park where a Rubythroat was seen, but arrived too late. There was nothing there but a Kingfisher. This time I got lucky. A pretty male was waiting, ready to pose numerous times!
