The 1st day of May, Meeting of Japanese Wild Bird Society in Imazu, 今津探鳥会 3

The field near the pig sty was very quiet. Just a few Wood Sandpipers, タカブシギ. Maybe 6

One very shy Long-toed Stint, ヒバリシギ

And 1 - only 1! - stint, a Red-necked Stint, トウネン

But many Barn Swallows, ツバメflew in to look for nesting materials.

On the east side of our meeting place I found these 2 Black-winged Stilts, セイタカシギ in a small lotus field

female

male

Squirting. Why would it do that?
