Imazu in spring

Took some time off from the daily chores on a grey cloudy day to see what was happening in the fields. A Chinese Penduline Tit, ツリスガラ called out from the reeds. Looks like a female.

Among various small waders a large flock of over 50 migrating Whimbrels, チュウシャクシギ had arrived in the river.

waiting for the tide to withdraw. They must be hungry!

Another temporary visitor: Bar-tailed Godwit, オオゾリハシシギ

A resident: Little grebe, カイツブリ in summer plumage. Where will you build your nest?

It is such a grey day. Need something to lift the mood:

Going overboard with the poppies... again.

Whatever the weather, there is always some color around
