In the meantime in Imazu

Small waders are hard to find. They are few, far and between.

Red-necked Stint,

The water is either to deep or the fields are dry.

(Persicaria japonica)

2 in one field, 1 in another. It's easier for them with their long legs.

Terek Sandpiper,

2 Wood Sandpipers,

Flowering in Imazu: a flower that looks like a Pavonia and a Hibiscus. What is it?

End of August these lilies were there at the same place:
シンテッポユリ, Shinteppo Lily, or Easter Lily

On Sept 4, during the WBSJ meeting a few small ducks were seen at the nakashima in the river.

Here in company of a Northern Pintail, オナガガモ right and a Redshank, アカシシギ 3rd from left

Back to the fields: Common Snipe,

Zitting Cisticola,

Autumn Zephyr Lily or White Rain Lily,

Skunk Vine,

Generally few birds. We will see what the typhoon will bring...
