Aisatsu

This blog is for family and friends, to share my feelings and photos with and for myself, to support my fading memory and improve my Japanese. I intend to do some writing in kanji, but am not getting very far without a Japanese computer. So for the moment I say "konnichi wa". Aisatsu dake - just saying hello.

Migrating birds in Fukuoka 7

A big flock of Rooks hung around Itoshima in the end of March, a few days before they left.

Rook,  ミヤマガラス

Wood Sandpipers come and go a lot, we see them mostly in spring and autumn.

Wood Sandpiper,  タカブシギ

Great cormorants are residents in Japan, but they leave Fukuoka temporary to breed.

Great Cormorant,  カワウ

Mukudori live here, but even they escape Fukuoka in the heat of summer.

White-cheeked Starling,  ムクドリ
