Osprey, ミサゴ

When I arrived at the site 2 birds were perched on the nest, an adult and a child. They were skimming the sky and soon another adult flew in with a fish. Actually a part of some fish. This must have been the father, it seemed a bit smaller then the other parent.

The chick started eating right away and I thought: Is there only one child? It was already fairly big, I would not call it a fledgeling anymore. But it had all the features of a new-born.

Sure, a few minutes later another bird landed: another chick.

Had they been hunting together? Had the father been teaching his offspring? At the nest the 2nd chick immediately claimed its part.

The nest looked big and well built. However 4 Ospreys is quite a crowd. One adult, the father left.

A pecking order was established
