Summer in the forest

It suddenly became hot. A Lesser Cuckoo called out for a few minutes early in the morning. When it left the forest became quiet. The Asian Brown Flycathers who were buildiing a nest were nowhere to be seen. With all those new leaves on the trees the nest could also hardly be seen, but when I found it it looked empty. What happened? A female Blue-and White flycatcher flew by a few times, collecting food for her kids maybe. The male was not seen. A male Narcissus flycatcher suddenly stopped in front of me, marking its territory and chasing the lady away.

Lesser Cuckoo, ホトトギス

female Blue-and-white Flycatcher, オオルリ

Narcissus Flycatcher, キビタキ

Neither of them noticed the bright white Geometer moth, (ウスキクロテンヒメシャク ?) nor the other huge bug (What is it???) or would these be too big to become a meal?

At the old school building the Red-rumped Swallows, コシアカツバメ were as busy as before the renovation. Glad to see they returned!

Chestnut Tiger, アサギマダラ
