Exploring Saga

The forcast was rain and that is what we got. But not all the time. Often the clouds came down just to give us the misty landscape sights that we love so much. The perfect escape and distraction of Corona worries. No people, just us

Attracted by the light of a vending machine
Not your common Japanese tree frog, but シュレーゲルアオガエル, Schlegel’s Green Frog

 A first for me

Schlegel’s Japanese gecko

 Morning walk

Solomon’s Seal

At a small hidden shrine strange faces look at me

Silver Orchid

Chinese peacock

In the middle of the road: Fire Belly Newt, (Akahara Imori)

Fairy Bells

As if the ginlan orchids weren't enough...  10 min later we stumbled upon this field

Calanthe Discolor Orchid

Another funny creature crossing our path:  ツチハンミョウ, kind of Blister beetle

Udono rock carvings and Buddha sculptures
