New born

I drove to the east with T to find an American Sparrow. It was very windy and cold - most birds were hiding. The best thing was a family with new born shrikes. SO CUTE!

Bull-headed Shrike, モズ babies

The next good thing was a male Red-flanked Bluetail, ルリビタキ Finally a decent photo! It fled in the bush too soon...

Not that many Black-faced Buntings, アオジ anymore, but maybe that was because of the wind.

Many sakura trees were in full bloom. Japanese White-eye, メジロ

Images are from another park 2 days before

Stopping by a field to check on the Lapwings. Didn't see any. There were many White Wagtails.  Their markings vary and one of them appeared to be an Amur White Wagtail, ホオジロハクセキレイ. Number 5 this year!

At the tidal flats their was a big stretch of nothing but 2 Kentish Plovers, シロチドリ

Some people were shelling and a flock of 23 Oystercatchers, ミヤコドリ did the same.

Back home, one of our yearly visitors was waiting at the lifeline
Barn Swallow, ツバメ
