Mt. Kuju in July 1

A different route to our favorite place in Kyushu took us through the mountains between Fukuoka and Saga. We stopped at Kanzaki for a small walk and to look at the sights.

Japanese Kanoko Lily, (Kanokoyuri)

The early bird etc....you know. I got lucky catching a sight of the Crested Kingfisher,

Next came our look out point, a place we visit for sunrise views, but this time it was noon.
Dianthus, (Kawaranadeshiko)

Japanese yellow blister beetles, Kiirogensei, キイロゲンセイ better not touch these.

2 Different Skippers:  The Japanese Dart, (Kimadaraseseri)

... and Silver-spotted Skipper, (Hosobaseseri)

A kind of Emerald Moth, maybe (Himeusu Aoshaku)

Some hairy caterpillars

I looked them up on the internet, but the only image I found was on a site for insecticides :-( !
(Euthrix albomaculata) Bamboo lasiocampid

Japenese Banded Darter, (Miyama Akane)

The red male

Seemingly suspended in air, hundreds little bugs that look like tiny baby spiders

The Dryad, (Janomechou)

Midday view
