Around the west most of the Boobooks have left their nests and moved on to places where we can hardly see them. Untill a few days ago one was still perched on the same branch everyday, watching a hole in the Camphor tree that looked clean (and used). Are there any chicks in there? I wonder... Where is the other parent? Somewhere in the Mistletoes? (オオバヤドリギ Scurulla yadoriki)
Suddenly the adult bird was gone. When I returned in the evening I saw 2 birds flying around the tree to some point at the back. They appeared to come from the Sugi grove behind the shrine...

After a mountain patrol I stopped at the dam, hoping to get a glimps of the Crested Kingfisher, ヤマセミ that was calling frequently. But it didn't show. There was a young Peregrine Falcon, ハヤブサ flying among the trees
