Time for something else
I love this tree. From a distance it looked like any cherry blossom, but it is a Gyoiko.
From Hirado island, where we spent a few days mid April. Below some new flowers for me, seen in a broad-leaved forest at a small mountain. Google lens came up with this name, but I don't know...
Baika Ikariso ???
The delicate white flowers looked fragile and pure in the dark forest.
One of the many kinds of Japanese wild Violets: Some kind of Sumire,
Silver Dragons,
Asian Swallowtails,
Toadflax,
Scarab Beetle spec.
Despite the loud night chorus of paddyfield frogs and the sheer number of fields I could not find any other frog than this Bullfrog,
Blue Pimpernel,
Five-leaf akebia or Chocolate vine (Akebi)
Net-winged beetle spec.
Kind of Spurge, maybe Natsutodai,
There were very few birds. Lots of Black Kites and Sparrows, but little else. No Barn Swallows, no Rock Thrushes. Below the only one worth a picture: Zitting Cisticola,
We visited the Amidaji temple in Nokocho
And had a peek inside the small Shinto shrine at Okinoshima and outside a Catholic church in Ozashicho
The more interesting part of our sightseeing trip was at the Happy Crane Sake factory
Greetings from Hirado Island
