This blog is for family and friends, to share my feelings and photos with and for myself, to support my fading memory and improve my Japanese. I intend to do some writing in kanji, but am not getting very far without a Japanese computer. So for the moment I say "konnichi wa". Aisatsu dake - just saying hello.

5 days around Kyushu, part 5

From Miike it was not too far to Miyazaki, where we checked out the young eagle, a very pretty bird that stands out because of its beautiful juvenile markings and its size. Just as well, because that prevailing strong wind kept it from flying our way and we had to be content with a distance of 200-300 m

Greater Spotted Eagle, カラフトワシ

Other birds seen at that location were mainly ducks. The Pintails looked particularly pretty and elegant.

Northern Pintail, オナガガモ
