Japanese Thrush,

In a dark corner in the city park I met Japanese Thrushes, male and female. There were 4 or 5 birds that occasionally came out of the dark bush to drink. A smaller orange-brown bird was briefly seen in the distance, but I was not fast enough to capture it. Was it a Robin?

No mugimaki

I went to the mountains to look for Mugimaki again. The fruit on the karasu sanshou has ripened and the common small birds regularly stop by, but I didn't see any other flycatchers than this one.

Narcissus Flycatcher,

I was a little excited about this caterpillar though.
Cucullia maculosa?

Stonechats were all over the place

I was driving in the dark when a dark shadow hovered over me and landed on the road...

It was perched on a road sign first and jumped to the road in front of me. In the light of my cars headlights, I could only just focus on it. I thought it was a Short-eared Owl, コミミズク, but was corrected. This is apparantly a Long-eared Owl,

At home I eliminated the noise and this is the result.

Not bad, hey!

Now I can see the fine barred markings on wing-tips and tail. Thank you, Mr. H.

Another creature on the dark road: Raccoon Dog,
There were at least 10 of them as far as I could see.
