Mountain flowers, Mt Kuju

Ohisashiburi say people here and it had indeed been a while since we visited the Mt Kuju National Park area in Oita pref. The early morning drive to Chojabaru was uneventful except for a wild pig running on the express way near Kusu at 5am. Not many cars yet. I hope it got away safely. The traditional stop to see the morning scenery was very brief, just long enough for 1 shot

Pincushion Flower,

The clouds hung low most of the morning and mountain dew was everywhere

(Allium thunbergii)

Skimmia japonica var. intermedia f. repens

Solidago, アキノキリンソウ on the left and something on the side of the road that I cannot find in any guidebook on the right

Some more questionmarks: イナカギク? (Aster semiamplexicaulis?)

(Aster maackii) ?

(Gentiana scabra)

Asian comma (キタテハ)

(Ligularia japonica)

a few autumn colors. The best is yet to come!
