Collection of birds seen in September and early October, some from visits to the fields in west Fukuoka, others from hikes in the mountains south of the city. Mostly common birds, but life would not be the same without them and they deserve a place in the blog.
Common Snipes,
Japanese Grosbeak, イカル
Ryukyu Minivet,
Grey-streaked Flycatcher,
Red-billed Leiothrix,
Common Kingfisher,
Japanese Wagtail,
Back at its usual place
Blue Rock Thrush,
A group of 9 Oriental Magpies, カササギ, acting like naugthty teenagers
All want to sit on top of the tallest tree
Our couple of Hooded Crane, ナベヅル split up; 1 on each side of the river. I wonder what will happen next. One injured bird cannot leave I suppose, but the other could fly away...
what are you doing here, between the houses?
As the crow flies there is only 300-400m between them. Can they hear each other?
