This blog is for family and friends, to share my feelings and photos with and for myself, to support my fading memory and improve my Japanese. I intend to do some writing in kanji, but am not getting very far without a Japanese computer. So for the moment I say "konnichi wa". Aisatsu dake - just saying hello.

Last birds of the year 3

Men with shotguns are patrolling the fields. The ducks are flying

Eurasian Wigeons, ヒドリガモ on the move

Keeping an eye on the men - and on me I guess - Eurasian Kestrel, チョウゲンボウ

In the same area this Chestnut-eared Bunting, ホオアカ. I hope he takes care

Enough finches around to distract his attention, Oriental Greenfinch, カワラヒワ

Enjoy the sunshine, Meadow Bunting, ホオジロ

In the river a lonesome Shelduck, ツクシガモ looking for its mates

Everywhere, in all the fields there are the Dusky Thrushes, ツグミ

And sometimes a couple of Eurasian Spoonbills, ヘラサギ
