Tanabata festival part 2


When it gets dark around 40 local women dance the "bon odori" balancing the lantarns on their heads









Followed by the final act: a professional performance on a floating platform adorned with intricately curved bamboo strips in one of the shrine's ponds.


  And that is the end of yet another colorful Japanese matsuri
