This blog is for family and friends, to share my feelings and photos with and for myself, to support my fading memory and improve my Japanese. I intend to do some writing in kanji, but am not getting very far without a Japanese computer. So for the moment I say "konnichi wa". Aisatsu dake - just saying hello.

December birds 1

I left it way too long and today, on the last day of the year a long list of photos is waiting.
I will start with the A for Atori, the Japanese name for Brambling. Huge flocks seen in Itoshima.

アトリ, Bramblings

Ducks sometimes, when the mudflats are flooded, come resting in the fields.
ツクシガモ, Common Shelducks

オカヨシガモ, Gadwall

And another flock, Greenfinches this time.
カワラヒワ, Oriental Greenfinches
