Siberian Stonechat, ノビタキ

I went out to see if they had arrived. last year they were here in the first week of April, so I thought my chance was high. However, I found only 1 female bird...









Little Ringed Plover, コチドリ







Quite a number of butterflies have appeared. They remind me that spring in Japan is short. Soon it will be summer.



The Rustic Buntings, カシラダカ are still there



And so are some ducks.  Falcated Duck, ヨシガモ 4 males on the mudflats

Migrating birds, 渡り鳥

After many sunny warm days the cold came back. And suddenly the migrating birds were there.

The next day the weather cleared. Narcissus Flycatcher, キビタキ









I was particularly happy to see the Asian Stubtail, ヤブサメ because I'd missed it last year

Spring tour of the west

In this beautiful weather it's hard to stay inside and do home work. I drove west to my favorite spots.
このいい天気で家の中で仕事するはきついです
西に向かった

In Imazu the Rustic Buntings were still around
今津のカシラダカはまだいました





A Black-faced Bunting, アオジ near the Daffodils, 水仙 made a nice scene



Towards Itoshima, 糸島 a small flock of Chestnut-eared Buntings, ホオアカ...


...posed briefly in front of some purple colored flowers and even on the Rape seed, 菜の花



Driving along the coast I saw a large number of Loons, オオハム too far to see details.



A stop at a Cherry blossom point: Japanese White-eye, 桜とメジロ



Grey Wagtail, キセキレイ in summer feathers, 夏羽



Pacific Reef Heron, クロサギ as usual







The Blue Rock Thrush, イソヒヨドリ dancing on the concrete blocks



At last a quick farewell to the Red-flanked Bluetail, ルリビタキ. He will be leaving soon...
