My long time wish to see a Great Bittern up close came true. I marveled at its remarkable appearance. The way it moves, the way it blends in with the reeds, it's all immensely intriguing.
With a pose like this it can become just about invisible
There were many Reed Buntings in the creek. Many Common, but also Pallas's Reed Bunting. Sometimes it was hard to tell them apart. Below is one with a ring, but I cannot see a number.
Pallas's Reed Bunting, シベリアジュリン
Common Reed Bunting, オオジュリン
Please tell me if I got it wrong!
Another bird emerging from the reeds: Ruddy-breasted Crake, ヒクイナ
Hunting in the fields nearby: Eastern Buzzard, ノスリ
