What's happening in the west? A family of ducks was patrolling the ditch in the first week of July. What kind of ducks are they?
Young Shrikes are flying around. Bull-headed Shrike, モズ
On August 1st 2 juvenile Black-faced Spoonbills, クロツラヘラサギ were seen at the mudflats
Some waders had arrived as well! Grey-tailed Tattler, キアシシギ, Terek Sandpiper, ソリハシシギ and the usual Common Greenshanks, アオアシシギ
Hardly noticeable in the foliage, Black-crowned Night Heron, ゴイサギ
A male Kingfisher, カワセミ after the rain
Just a common Oriental Turtle Dove, キジバト you'd say, but so pretty!
Mum duck and the kids 3 weeks later. They grow fast!
Juvenile Little Ringed Plover, コチドリ
Ruddy-breasted Crake, ヒクイナ
Lots of Eurasian Sparrows, スズメ many still relying on parents for food
One handsome Peregrine Falcon, ハヤブサ (see next post)
Emerald Damselfly or Common Spreadwing, アオイトトンボ Female and male
In the meantime at the big river towards the east: Little Egret, コサギ
Have they finished nesting?
