Round Fukuoka it’s very hard to see the Crested
Kingfishers. They are very shy and only come out early morning. I have only
ever seen them from very far and never got a decent photograph. While in Izumi
we stopped somewhere in the woods by a river to see the local resident. He (or
she) was at home when we arrived, but true to its reputation it wouldn’t let
us come anywhere near. After some attempts we decided to move on. Just then I
got a small chance when it landed on a stone in the river. But again, it was
sooo faaar…
Crested
Kingfisher,
In the same river Brown Dippers were gathering nest
building materials. In January! Early birds; Probably get many worms.
Brown
Dipper,
Other birds at the same location: Rustic
Bunting,
Eurasian
Sparrowhawk,
Japanese
Wagtail,
