Aisatsu

This blog is for family and friends, to share my feelings and photos with and for myself, to support my fading memory and improve my Japanese. I intend to do some writing in kanji, but am not getting very far without a Japanese computer. So for the moment I say "konnichi wa". Aisatsu dake - just saying hello.

December birds 3-2

So glad to see the Redstarts in winter. They are literally everywhere. The male so colorful and daring, the female soft and sweet. Like the lady below. Daurian Redstart, ジョウビタキ

And then the thrushes, how boring the fields would be without them. Dusky Thrush, ツグミ

female Blue Rock thrush, イソヒヨドリ

Even the common White-cheeked Starlings, ムクドリhave their charme - in ugliness – after a bath

Back to the waders: Common Greenshank, アオアシシギ

and  Black-winged Stilt, セイタカシギ

Another single bird that hang around for a while.

 Mr. Kestrel, チョウゲンボウ
