Louis Vuitton America’s Cup World Series Fukuoka 2016

Friday Nov 18th, the morning of the first day. Beautiful sunshine, but no wind…

Debating (or debaiting?) the Oracle?

View of the first (test) races from the Atagohama side of Muromi river...

...with Hakata Futo in the back

Saturday, 1st Race day. A much better position now at Momochihama. Great racing but again not much wind.

Oracle (USA) and Artemis (Sweden)

3 races per day; all 6 boats lining up for the first start

Artemis from Sweden showing some acrobatics in front of Landrover BAR from the UK.

Now with the Brits, side by side

The French coming into view

A confusingly close encounter of BAR with Japan's Softbank

The rain that was forecasted didn't show up and the day turned sunny. A little more wind would have been nice

The Kiwi's turn to jump

And then came Super Sunday. Lucky to be on a VIP boat!

 A very different angle now
As the forecast said: Cloudy and very little wind

The Swedish team working very hard. すごいがんばっている Artemis

THE man on the bow. 2 of today's 3 races were won by the Swedes... thanks to him.

British team in action

Swedes again

The favorite of the guests on board. Look how the boat is lifted out of the water!

The French who were not doing so well managed to cross the finish 1st in the last race. Good on them!

The end of the last race and of these series: Landrover BAR crew very excited: "We won!" かった!

Softbank Team, おつかれさまでした

楽しかった!

  1. Great. These boats have been a great boost to observers. Good shots and am envious. Perhaps we will be in Bermuda for the Americas Cup!
