When I set off in the morning I fully expected to find Mama duck followed by a train of flufflings. But I never saw that. Mum was there, a Dad-type duck as well, and the kids were all over the place. They were all around the pond, in small groups or just by themselves. I could barely count them (I think there were 10). I guess they felt safe.

Japanese Robin, コマドリ
Every year it's a tense question. Will we see it again in Fukuoka? Will it come to the usual park?
Others in the park
One morning I arrived early and headed for the 'komadori kaidan'. Something was there! I could see it, hear it. There were 2 or 3. Soon they appeared:
Red-billed Leiothrix, ソウシチョウ
