Butterflies and other wings in the mountains

It's the end of August; our normal working life will return soon. After the trip to Ishikawa we managed to escape the heat a few more days in the relatively cool mountains of Kyushu.

I'm not sure, maybe High Brown Fritillary,

Freyer's Purple Emperor

Eurasian White Admiral,

 Japanese Treebrown,

Dark Evening Brown,

It's the season for Higotai Globe Thistle, ヒゴタイ and the best place to see them is the Higotai Park. I spent a few hours there, hoping to see the Oseibo blue wasp, but it didn't show up. There were other wings, of course.

Kuroshijimi, クロシジミ Niphanda fusca ssp. fusca on Two-edged Loose-trife, ミソハギ

Old World Swallowtail,

Asian Swallowtail,

The Dryad,

Asian Comma,

Pea Blue,

Not a butterfly, but very popular with photographers:

Blue-banded Bee, or Decorated Cloak-and-dagger Bee,

And that was the result of wandering around during the last 3 days of August.
