After the quiet summer weeks, birds in the mountains are active and on the move now. Flycatchers do their thing: chasing each other, fighting over territory, especially the juveniles. They have a lot to learn.
So cute, this fledgling. Is it an Asian Brown Flycatcher, コサメビタキ?
Parents are watching from the canopy
Asian Brown Flycatcher, コサメビタキ
Grey-streaked Flycatchers, エゾビタキ are flying by all the time
The Blue-and-white Flycatcher, オオルリ family was stealing the show. Brave enough to come out of the dense forest at midday, but only briefly. Other birds seemed to respect them.
Finally I met the Narcissus Flycatcher, キビタキ again
Among all these fast-fly-hunting birds are the ones that cling to a tree. Like the Eurasian Nuthatch, ゴジュウカラ
Eating berries and insects. Whatever.
