We went to a family meeting in Indonesia. My brother-in-law had rented a house in Bali on the north coast, away from the tourist crowds. It was a nice house. Around the house were ricefields and other farm fields, a few farm buildings, fruit trees and some temples - of course. The days were hot, >30 C and humidity was high. Everyday thunder clouds gathered in the south over the mountains, but rain hardly ever reached us. Birding was fun in the early morning hours. I saw many birds that reminded me of Southeast Asia 15 years ago. There will be 4 or 5 posts. Japanese birds are presently put on hold.

They looked like sparrows in the ricefields from a distance: Javan Munia, コシグロキンパラ

The bird that entertained us throughout the day: Malaysian Pied-Fantail, ムナオビオウギビタキ
Love that fan-shaped tail!
All around us were these cute little Zebra Doves, チョウショウバト
