Oriental Pratincole, ツバメチドリ

Back in Japan. It's August - summer break - hot and muggy. Didn't think any birds would be out there in the sweltering heat. But surprise: a young migrating Oriental Pratincole, ツバメチドリ
This must be his or her first trip south. Gambatte!!!

Others out there were the ever quarrelling juvenile plovers, Little Ringed Plover,  コチドリ

A couple of Long-toed Stints, ヒバリシギ

Several Red-necked Stints, トウネン. Some in summer plumage...

Others in their winter outfit - more white and a non-colored neck

And a Sharp-tailed Sandpiper, ウズラシギ  in the far corner
