Daurian Redstart, ジョウビタキ

The last week of October all the Redstarts wintering in Kyushu seemed to have gathered on Noko Island. They were everywhere. I took the time to watch a few hassling about their rights to the place.

This pretty female got my intention as it was busy investigating a bucket with water.

 

A male tried to pry her away...

He is handsome, but pairing season is over, we have to move on...

This place certainly got potential.
